Volkswagen first official photos of the next generation of pickup trucks Saveiro, which was designed and built in the South American market. It features front-end design borrowed style tips, Volkswagen’s latest creations, like the Tiguan, a compact pickup to compete head-on with the Fiat Strada, Montana Chevrolet and Ford Courier.
The Saveiro be offered in South America with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder flex-fuel engine capable of running on gasoline or ethanol blends. A size of flex-fuel engine will do their duty, and gives two different power levels depending on the source of fuel. The 1.6-liter VHT (Volkswagen High Torque) is filled with gasoline 74kW (101HP), while filled with ethanol gives slightly higher 77kW (104hp).
Three trim levels are available, a 1.6L (basic), 1.6L and 1.6L Trooper Trend. The 1.6L is the work horse the most basic and painted bumpers and interior features simple. Its sole purpose in life is to work. At a higher level, the trend comes with features such as bumpers body-color coded. Some might even say it’s a freight car with flying colors. High-end model is the Cavalier, which is aimed at a younger, active people. Visually, it is also more accurate.
